God & man

He created time and space,

and the human race,

to display by grace,

His triune face.

With free will to reject,

holy communion,

humanity elected,

to refuse and lose Him.

While they tried to prove,

they were self-sufficient,

He unleashed his mercy,

to preserve their existence.

While they opposed the truth,

and remained in pride,

His love would not lose,

nor disdain, their lives.

He patiently waited,

to redeem His creatures,

and graciously related,

with humble seekers.

He revealed His divinity,

by the work of His Creation,

and delivered his Word,

though an imperfect nation.

He grounded his message,

in truth and honesty,

and confirmed his voice,

through miracles and prophecy.

He spoke with clarity,

and without contradiction,

and it struck the core,

of humanity’s condition.

Given His nature,

of love and relation,

He willed to provision,

lasting salvation.

But if the cure was delivered,

at a time premature,

none would have preserved it,

and few would have heard it.

And if the gift of salvation,

was delayed just the slightest,

the infection of sin,

would persuade men to deny it.

At the appointed time,

in human history,

He sent His only Son,

clothed in humility.

As a fragile man,

He faced sin and temptation,

but He loved the Father,

and willed to obey Him.

Without fault or blemish,

that could be found within Him,

the spirit of perversion,

still willed to condemn Him.

He submitted to suffer,

for men’s sinful decisions,

so His Spirit could revive,

and cleanse the repentant.

We were made in God’s image,

and chose to distort it,

but his good power and wisdom,

exposed and restored it.

We’ve been given eternity,

even though we don’t deserve it.

Yes, salvation is for all,

who know they can’t earn it.

We must humbly confess,

what is inherently apparent:

We cannot be saved,

by our strength and good merit.

We must live to love God,

and love each other,

for He is our Father,

and we are sisters and brothers.

Thank you Father,

For Your Son, who redeems us.

By Your Spirit,

we can become like Jesus.
